Michael attended Birkbeck College (London University) and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. At London Guildhall University he obtained an MSc in Counselling Psychology and after further study at London Metropolitan University, was awarded a Post Practitioner’s Diploma in Counselling Psychology.

Michael has worked as a therapist/psychologist for the best part of 20 years. He started as a volunteer, working with people with acute long-standing psychological problems, such as schizophrenia, personality disorders and chronic depression. Then he became a Samaritan and also worked with young offenders while they were waiting to be resettled into the community. Since qualifying, he has worked in various settings within the NHS, GP practices and rehabilitation units (for drugs and alcohol), both in the voluntary and private sectors.
He has experience of working with individuals, couple counselling, family therapy and has been a group facilitator since the mid 1990s.
Michael has a practice on the Somerset/Devon borders, whilst still spending some time each week in London at an Inner City Alcohol Agency as well as seeing private clients.

As a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, Michael is registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS). His Registration No 41411 and accreditation can be verified on the Register of Chartered Psychologists
